Could sweating when eating the mildest of salsa be a allergic reaction?

My husband noticed that every time he eats salsa, even the mildest of salsa, he sweats. The salsa I make is just diced tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, and garlic. It is never really hot, usually mild to medium. We just don't understand why he over heats, he even has to put the fan on. Does anyone think this might be a slight allergic reaction?
