How to build a good college resume?

An internship will definitely help, but the blog is an awesome activity by itself. Traditional journalism is really struggling to figure out how to deal with the rise of the Internet, so the more you can do to establish yourself as social media savvy and capable of building a following in that arena, the better. And building your portfolio never hurts, so see what you can do about landing guest writing stints for other blogs or papers. None of this should come at the expense of your schoolwork, of course, but your career is ultimately going to depend at least as much on your experience as your training - and Auburn (or other programs) are going to want someone who's already demonstrated they've got a future in the field.
