I want to be a sports journalist, what major should i do in college?

im a junior in high school right now and i keep hearing about how one should not major in journalism but rather major in something broader that is what you want to write about and take journalism classes or a concentration in journalism. I want to be a sports journalist, what should i major in if not journalism?
